Homeland Park Community Task Force

Who we are and what we do

The Homeland Park Community Task Force was created in 2007, by a group of residents who saw potential in this once-lovely community. Our initial community effort was a street clean up campaign, in April, 2007. These have grown from our first, collecting a few dozen bags of trash and debris, to our last Pride Day event, which drew over 100 volunteers and resulted in 125 bags of trash, dozens and dozens of tires, shopping carts, large debris and metal. While clean-up programs are an easier task to implement, it is not our sole goal.  We always are seeking input from our citizens in ways we can enhance our community.  HPCTF is a 501-C-(3) non profit group. We recieved our status and have been active since June 2008.

The HPTF has also created an elderly assistance program, where we will assist those who need minor help in maintaining their property.  The services we offer are hauling away household trash, along with any lawn care as needed. Please note: There is a small charge for these services due to high costs for fuel and equipment. Lawn care will be provided on a once-a-month basis, or as determined by volunteer group. Contact us for further information about this program.

The HPTF is also working in conjunction with the Anderson County Sheriff's Department to educate and inform residents of social issues which residents may not be aware of or can help to promote a safer community.  Some of our meetings provide information regarding Identity theft, neighborhood watch programs, criminal activities and Q & A sessions with members of the law enforcement community.

We are grateful to have such a wonderful and supportive citizen base.  Our participating residents range from 8 to 80. Please feel free to join in our meetings and community rebirth.
